Crochet Heart Headband Pattern

Hi everyone! This is the written pattern for my heart headband from
my YouTube tutorial. This pattern is somewhat customizable and you can opt to use a different border or no border at all. You can also put as many or as few hearts on the headband as you would like!

 CROCHET HEART HEADBAND PATTERN:

Base:

1. Slip knot,chain 6, turn
2. Skip a chain, hdc 5 across, ch 1 turn
3. Continue until you have reached a multiple of 3 amount of rows, desired length - a multiple of 3 to make the border line up correctly (I end up with 45 rows in my video)

Border: 

1. Attach the desired border color, slip stitch in that stitch you attached the yarn to, sc 3 in the next row/stitch, slip stitch in the next stitch/row, continue until the end of the piece (each row from the 45 rows you crocheted is the equivalent of one “stitch”)
2. Flip the piece over and repeat the previous step

Heart design:

Using surface crochet:

1. If you have 45 rows, you have space for 6 hearts, with 3 rows before and in between each heart
2. Follow the pattern to surface crochet the heart design

I am a left handed crocheter so I followed the graphic on the left as if felt more natural but both should work!

I give some guidelines in my YouTube tutorial as to how to space the hearts equally apart, but I think that different spacing/less or more hearts could be just as cute!

Ties:

1. Attach base color to the end, ch, skip a stitch, hdc 4, ch, turn
2. Skip a stitch, hdc 3, ch, turn
3. Skip a stitch, hdc 2, ch, turn
4. Skip a stitch hdc 1, ch until you reach your desired tie length and then tie off

-For the ties, you can opt to fasten off a different way. In my video, I tied a few knots to make a sort of circular end to stop the project from fraying but you can also weave the tail into the chain for the ties.
